The Instrument Which Did Not Want To Be Played is a reflexion on our relationship with musical instruments. The love/hate relation that can happen when one is trying to learn how to play and the instrument just does not cooperate.
The Instrument is based on the Theremin design, the first electronic instrument created in 1917 by Leon Theremin. It uses an antenna to play notes that are generated by a Mutable Instruments Elements eurorack module. The antenna is attached to a mechanical arm which start moving when the antenna picks up a presence, making it hard to reach and unpredictable.
